  • Bleeding & wounds: Flowers and leaves stop bleeding internally and externally; useful for cuts, ulcers, and emergencies.

  • Fever & infections: Diaphoretic action induces sweating, helping to break fevers and support immune response in respiratory infections.

  • Stings & bites: Topical application relieves pain and itching from ant, bee, and wasp stings.

  • Urinary support: Diuretic and astringent properties aid the urinary tract and support kidney function.

  • Menstrual health: Antispasmodic and astringent effects ease cramps and regulate menstrual flow.

  • Blood pressure: Traditionally used to help regulate hypertension.

  • Root use: Works as a local anesthetic for dental pain and mouth sores.

Form & Dosage

  • Tincture: ¼–1 tsp, 2–3 times daily.

  • Powder: 1–2 rounded tsp, 2–3 times daily.

  • Tea/infusion: Flowers and leaves steeped in hot water for fevers, colds, or menstrual support.

  • Topical use: Poultice, salve, or tincture applied directly to wounds, bites, or stings.

  • Root: Applied directly or infused for mouth and dental pain.

Precautions

  • Pregnancy & Lactation: Avoid use; may stimulate uterine contractions.

  • Drug Interactions: Do not combine with anticoagulants, antiplatelets, sedatives, blood pressure, or mental health medications.

  • Identification Warning: Wild white umbel plants (such as Poison Hemlock and Water Hemlock) can be deadly—correct identification is essential.
