A mucilage-rich herb traditionally used to soothe inflamed tissues of the urinary, digestive, and respiratory tracts. It calms irritation, eases infections, and provides gentle nourishment.

Benefits & Uses

Form & Dosage

  • Cold Infusion: Preferred method; steep root or leaf in cold water to preserve mucilage.

  • Tea/Infusion: Root and leaf can be used for soothing internal irritation.

  • Poultice/Topical: Crushed leaves applied externally to skin abrasions or inflammation.

Precautions

  • Preparation Method: Best prepared as a cold infusion to retain mucilage content.
